About ITASPA
In Nigeria, many still have limited or no access to electricity due to socio-economic and geographical factors.
At a time when all facets of human endeavor are undergoing an inevitable global revolution in the face of a pandemic and the birth of new methods for productivity, it is undoubtedly necessary for everyone – young and old, rich and poor, men and women especially in the rural areas in Nigeria to have access to one of the tools that serves as a driver of productivity, safety and comfort – electricity
Incorporated Trustees of Advocates of Solar Panels Association with registration number 176008 was fully registered on the 14th of March 2022 in Nigeria as a vision- driven NGO to light up rural areas in Nigeria by providing electricity via installing solar panels and batteries.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES.
- Ensure that at least 3,000 households have access to electricity through supply and installation of solar panels and batteries by 2027.
- Install 500 solar panels and batteries in rural households per year.
- Increase productivity and security in rural communities through the supply of electricity.
LIGHT UP RURAL AREAS IN NIGERIA
This project is a humanitarian initiative, designed to reach out to individuals who do not have opportunities or have been denied access to government-provided electricity due to economic challenges or geographical locations.
The goal of this project is to provide electricity, by supplying and installing solar panels and batteries to at least 3,000 households in Nigeria by the end of 2027; no cost to the beneficiaries, thereby demystifying the narrative of electric inclusion for the benefit of the less privileged and distant rural communities.
Our pilot project locations are:
- Omuo-Ekiti in Ekiti State
- Mgbala Agwa in Imo State
- Ifabo in Kogi State
Why Solar?
At a time when all facets of human endeavor are undergoing an inevitable global revolution in the face of a pandemic and the birth of new methods for productivity, solar is the most sustainable and affordable way to deliver access to electricity to the 58% of Nigerians in rural areas who are living off grid or lack reliable access to electricity.
Key Impacts
Measuring impact is essential. Rather than assuming a solar light has a positive impact on a family’s life, we would rather prove it.
This is to ensure we continuously improve on our services to humanity and make sure ever partners, volunteers and supported see the impact they make when they donate or support.
Basically, we know that the impact of solar light to a family includes;
- The household saves 10% of their income, as they no longer have to buy fuel, candles or kerosene
- Every member of the household uses the light
- Thousands of extra study hours for the children
- Most household reports better health from not breathing toxic fumes.
This only proves that Solar light changes everything.
